In 2017, homegrown fund manager Investors Mutual Limited started a new chapter when it joined global multi-affiliate fund giant Natixis Investment Managers.
The following year, it partnered with fellow affiliate Loomis Sayles to launch a global equity fund open to retail investors in Australia. This was an exciting milestone for both funds as it played on each other strengths: IML had the local pedigree – essential to run a successful operation in Australia; Loomis Sayles provides the global perspective gained from managing a US$350 billion global multi-asset pool.
Three months after the fund launch, Financial Standard interviewed co-portfolio managers Eileen Riley and Lee Rosenbaum to understand what makes the Loomis Sales Global Equity fund different from other funds in its category, they told us that investors need to look past the negative news headlines to unearth investment gems.
