Key changes to the Loomis Sayles Global Equity Fund will take effect on 14 October 2024. Find out more

Investment Specialist Peter McPhee was recently joined by Eileen Riley, Co-Portfolio Manager of the Loomis Sayles Global Equity Fund to provide an update on the performance of the Fund.

It has been a more challenging start to the year for equity markets and the Fund, however Eileen believes there are plenty of reasons for investors to have confidence in the longer-term outlook.

Some of the key topics discussed included:

  • An overview of the top stock contributors over the quarter (including Airbnb, UnitedHealthcare, and Mastercard) as well the stocks that held back performance (including Sherwin Williams, Paypal, and Estee Lauder).
  • How the Fund’s lack of Energy exposure has been a headwind recently, and how the team analyses these businesses under their investment framework.
  • Global supply chain complexities – which companies are challenged and which are benefitting.
  • New investment in life sciences company Azenta.
